Jeanette Jackson - Chief Executive Officer, Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre
Jeanette is an experienced CEO and entrepreneur with broad experience in strategy, innovation, business development, marketing, and operations. As the CEO of Foresight, Jeanette has led rapid growth, transforming a regional organization into Canada’s largest cleantech accelerator. Since 2018, under her leadership, Foresight has expanded accelerator programs, built a vibrant Industry Innovation Program, and launched a sectoral approach to accelerate cleantech innovation. Jeanette is a frequent speaker, media guest, and advisor to innovators, industry, investors and government. Prior to joining Foresight, Jeanette was founding CEO of Light-Based Technologies, which she built into a scaling enterprise with venture capital support and a successful personal exit in 2011. As President of The Brag Company, she oversaw the complete restructuring of the business and sale of the company in just two years. As an Executive in Residence with Foresight, Jeanette advised more than 25 ventures in several markets including bio-energy, electric vehicles, smart buildings, water tech, robotics, and wind.
Jaeson Cardiff - Chief Executive Officer, Clean O2
Jaeson has been involved in the heating industry as a plumber and gas fitter for over 20 years and is passionate about both innovation and heating systems. He has worked on systems dating back to the 1920s to modern heating systems. 16 years ago he recognized the heating industry needed to do more to move towards the reduction and elimination of carbon emissions and began surrounding himself with incredibly talented people that could help realize his vision of a decarbonized future. Jaeson has led CleanO2 to its current position as an industry leader in innovative carbon capture solutions for the commercial heating industry and has deployed the world's first commercialized micro-scale carbon capture system. These systems are currently active in Canada, the United States, and Japan. Jaeson is a graduate of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and lives in Airdrie Alberta Canada with his wife of 21 years and their 13-year-old son.
Connor O’Shea, P.Eng, MBA - President, Westgen Technology
Connor O’Shea is a Mechanical Engineer by background with over a decade of experience working for Shell Canada. Early in his career he built expertise in planning, project management, economic assessment, and hands on operation & optimization of Upstream Assets in Production Engineering, Well Delivery, and Field Development roles. In 2015 Connor was hired into the role of Business Advisor to Shell Canada President and concurrently completed with distinction an Executive MBA at Cornell and Queen’s Universities. During this time Connor worked directly with the Executive Team to develop and implement Shell’s Focus to Win strategy. Connor later held Commercial roles at Shell and in his last role was responsible for sales of over $150 million of natural gas liquids annually. In early 2019, Connor stepped away from Shell and founded Westgen Technologies, a clean technology company focused on solving the problem of methane emissions from pneumatic devices. Now in its third year, Westgen’s EPOD technology is deployed across North America and is eliminating more than 50,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions annually. Connor is a member of the United Way GAIN non-profit consulting services team, serves as President of the Calgary Smith (Queen’s) Business Club, and acts as a Business Development Coach for community economic development organization Momentum.
Jim Vounassis - COO, Xebec Inc.
Mr. Jim Vounassis is a transformational senior executive with strong international experience and a proven track record in driving organizational performance. He was most recently COO at Bombardier Transportation (TSX: BBD.B), now part of Alstom, which is one of the world’s largest rail equipment manufacturing companies. Mr. Vounassis was responsible for the operations aspects of the $8 billion revenue business and empowered over 15,000 employees to deliver innovative rail solutions across global markets. Before being appointed COO at Bombardier Transportation, Mr. Vounassis held the position of Chief Transformation and Procurement Officer at Bombardier Corporation. Previous to that, he held positions as Vice President Global Operations at Pharmascience, Vice President Global Manufacturing and Strategic Sourcing at Baker Hughes and Vice President Global Strategic Sourcing at Pratt and Whitney. Mr. Vounassis is a graduate of University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also completed an Executive MBA at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
