Practitioners in achieving local participation in the supply chain will participate in a panel discussion during Session Three, Local Content: Global Best Practices. Conference delegates will hear from an operator about their approach to engaging the local supply chain, a global expert in supply chain analysis will share what is occurring in the global industry and the mayor of a town at the hub of a natural resources project will discuss the impact local participation has had on her community.

The last 18 months have been extremely challenging for the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore oil and gas industry as it struggles with reaching its vast resource potential during a global downturn when investment funds are scarce. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has embarked upon an ambitious plan to increase the competitiveness of the province, led by offshore industry leaders and veterans, and this session will explore recent actions taken and the collaboration required to achieve long-term objectives.
