This is a reminder to register for our virtual trade mission information session on Wednesday, May 27 from 2-3:30 p.m.
The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Centre for Women in Business (CWB) are coordinating a multi-sector business-to-business trade mission for a group of Atlantic Canada businesses this summer. While originally planned as an in-person mission, we are transitioning online as a result of COVID-19. Together, we will participate in a virtual trade mission to Kingston, Jamaica and Miami, Florida.
This is a non-gendered trade mission, open to all entrepreneurs. At the CWB, we continue to emphasize the benefits of working with women owned businesses including building more robust supply chains, fostering greater representation of customers and employers, and opening new markets.
The main objective of this mission is to provide Atlantic Canadian companies the opportunity to assess new markets by meeting a number of pre-qualified potential customers, partners, agents, distributors and other key industry contacts in each region.
We have extensive knowledge about what the current and future Jamaican market needs and are prepared to make these important connections to address these gaps. Miami continues to play an increasing role as a global hub for international commerce and emerging opportunities in the Caribbean basin and Latin America.
Our virtual trade mission will include all of the key elements of an in-person mission, including:
- pre and post mission sessions and training with delegates
- one-on-one coaching and mentoring
- learn to work with online meeting models in foreign markets
- individual meetings with pre-qualified potential business leads
- individual meetings with in-market Canadian Consular and High Commission trade specialists with Global Affairs Canada
- a tailored scorecard for you to keep track of each meeting
The cost of participating in the mission is $500+HST.
ACOA and CWB will lead a follow up mission in-person in 2021. Participants of the virtual trade mission will receive a $250 discount on the 2021 in-person mission. This will provide the opportunity for each delegate to follow up with their contacts in person.
