Karen White

Associate Vice President -

As a positive, intelligent, and enthusiastic communications professional, I’m passionate about building a strong and prosperous energy sector in our region. With 15+ years of government communications and private sector experience, I take great pride in helping the energy industry achieve their business objectives through superior integrated marketing communications, public affairs, government relations, brand communications, and media relations.

Through creative narrative and smart engagement, I strive to help people tell their story in effective ways. My focus is on changing the energy conversation and encouraging the responsible development of our natural resources. I take a collaborative approach to communications, and bring a depth of experience in natural resources development among government, industry, advocates and communities.

Working with energy partners and stakeholders, I’ve led communications and provided advice for complex and high profile regulatory, policy and public affairs files in the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors. I’ve also helped develop many complex policies including hydraulic fracturing, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.

I’m a strong believer that we can affect positive change and promote further energy development in our region. We are strategically positioned to seize many and diverse energy opportunities. A strong energy future means a strong economic future, and I’m excited about the contribution the Maritimes is and will make on the energy front.

Currently, I work with a range of energy sector companies at NATIONAL Public Relations, and I’d like to further support energy sector growth in our beautiful province and region. Outside the office, I have volunteered with Junior Achievement Canada to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among young, bright minds. On the academic front, I have a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University.
