We need YOU!
The Maritimes Energy Association is often called a strong voice for energy projects in eastern Canada – but we can’t do it alone!
The Association welcomes the support and commitment of volunteers from member companies to help keep the Association focused on important issues. We hope that all our members understand the value in supporting the Association’s efforts to represent you. We are only as strong as the support of our members and there has never been a time more critical than the present to show our collective strength.
We appreciate everyone who helps with events, or calls/writes with comments or suggestions, and most definitely those who volunteer their time to sit on our committees. Together we can make a difference and better represent the views and positions of our member companies and the energy industry.
Please consider volunteering for one of our committees requiring additional committee members:
We would like to add between 2 and 4 individuals to be part of two Committees that we have instituted - Energy Industry & Events Committee's. Each committee has four Board of Directors and upwards of four volunteers. This is a great time to learn about Board governance; help the energy industry expand and lend support to The Maritimes Energy Association.
Energy Industry Committee: To identify key government policies of interest or concern to members of the Association in the energy sector and to oversee and participate in the retention and addition of new members to the Association. Provide guidance and advice to the Board of Directors and Association staff on key energy issues and identify appropriate contacts within government and industry. In addition, from time to time, it may direct staff to provide research on specific matters of public policy of crucial importance to the Association members.

Events Committee: The purpose of the Events Committee is to oversee the annual social and networking events of the Association including the annual Core Energy Conference, by assisting with developing lists of potential speakers; sponsors and delegates. It works with the Board of Directors and staff to develop the appropriate number of activities throughout the year and ensure that each event is successful both in financial and quality terms, while helping the support the staff with day-of event logistics.
