The Core Golf Committee has selected the Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank as our charitable partner for the tournament this year.
Operating since 1983, Parker Street is an independent food and furniture bank located in downtown Halifax which provides services to approximately 250 families per week throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Volunteers from Parker Street will be at the tournament to receive your donations, and they'll be bringing a truck so start scouring the office, the rec room or those closets and before you toss it away, please set it aside to bring with along with you. Parker Street accepts donations of furniture, usable computer equipment (printers, scanners, laptops), linens, dishware, toys and small household items. Money raised through the tournament’s various contests will also be donated to the Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank.
Mel Boutilier and his team at Parker Street were absolutely thrilled to be selected as this year’s partner. Let's show them what we can do!
If you can't golf with us this year, you can still support this worthwhile organization by conveniently dropping off furniture or household items at our office (202 Brownlow Avenue) anytime between now and September 30th.
We thank all members for their support!
