May 16 - Shell Canada - Lessons Learned & Reflections for Future Prosperity
May 16, 2017
Shell Canada Ltd (Shell) has been a participant in Nova Scotia’s offshore oil & gas industry since the early 1960’s including as an investor in Nova Scotia’s first offshore well drilled. Shell recently completed a two well drilling campaign as part of its Shelburne Basin Venture (Shelburne) exploration program. Previous years included a large 3D Wide Azimuth (WAZ) Seismic Survey and Seabed Survey respectively, both in support of the exploration program.
Nova Scotia and Canada have benefited significantly from Shell’s exploration activities in the form of direct employment, indirect employment through training and other expenditures, capacity development to individuals and organizations, research and development in Nova Scotia, community social investment and other initiatives. These economic and social benefits are an important contribution to the province’s well-being.
On Tuesday, May 16th, 2017 - we are pleased to have Mr. Stéphane Labonté, Shell’s Canada Exploration Manager lead a conversation of their recent experience as an explorer in Nova Scotia’s offshore. In addition to Stéphane, we have asked two local companies to outline their experiences working with Shell and the opportunities and challenges they see in preparing for the future prospects. Mr. Peter MacKay, Director of Operations and HSSE of Blue Water Group and Mr. Darren Zwicker, Vice President, Environmental Solutions-Atlantic, Terrapure Environmental will each provide an overview of their experience in the offshore and will be part of a Q&A panel discussion.
This breakfast session will be of interest to anyone who has participated in the offshore oil & gas industry in the region including supply chain companies, oil & gas industry operators, government, and regulating authorities.*
